Potato Fries for fast | Crispy Potato strips | Navaratri vrat special


Give your Navaratri fast a twist by including tasty and crispy Potato Fries in your food. Now you don't need to worry about the variety of dishes in fasting. Say good bye to hunger with this potato strips. This recipe is very easy and you don't need to spend much time. Potato is everyone's favorite and this recipe will make you fall in love with potato even in fast. 




Preparation time : 15 minutes

Cooking Time : 10 minutes

Serving : 2 person


ALL YOU NEED  (Ingredients)

  • Potato 2 Large
  • Samwat rice  (Sama) 1/2 cup
  • Cilly powder (Accornding to your taste)
  • Black Paper powder  1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin Powder 1 traspoon
  • Rock Salt (sendha namak) According to your test
  • Sabudana 1/2 tbsp

 HOW TO MAKE CRISPY POTATO FRIES (METHOD)

STEP 1: Pour Samwat (sama) rice into jar of grinder add 1/2 table spoon of sabudana.
grind it well. Take out the flour into a bowl





STEP 2 :  Add 1/2 cup water into the flour to make paste. The paste should have medium consistency(neither too thick nor too thin). If required you can add extra water into the paste to obtain fine paste consistency.


STEP 3 :  Leave the paste for 10 minutes so that a perfect form of paste is obtained. 

STEP 4 :  Take potatoes peel off them and cut into long strips.


STEP 5:  Now add  salt into the paste and mix it well and add chilly powder, black pepper powder cumin powder, mix them well 

STEP 6 :  Add potato strips into the paste, coat every strips properly


STEP 7:  Take a pan or kadhai on stove, keep the flame on medium pour  oil into it and let the oil become hot

STEP 8:  Pour every single coated strips of potato one by one into the hot oil. Keep the flame on low


STEP 9:  Once you done with the step 8 please keep the flame on medium. Deep fry the strips properly.

STEP 10:  Flip the strips other side if required so that it can be fried uniformly.

STEP 11:  Take the Potato fries in a plate and serve with  cutney or sauce.



Points to keep in mind while making Potato Fries


  • If the samwat (sama)  is not perfectly grind then grind it again to make  flour. (No need to convert it into powder)
  • Add water in the sama flour slowly  to get a perfect paste consistency. Don't add water at once
  • Mind the potato strips should be thick and long like french fries potato. Don't compromise with the thickness of potato strips.
  • Add the strips into oil for fry only when the oil is hot enough to fry the strips.
  • Don't add all the potato strips together at once. Potato strips will not fry uniformly.
